Oil City Derby Girls (OCDG) win over Saskatoon Roller Derby (SRDL)

Sour Cherry was one of my first rollergirl interviews for Derbyluv.com back in May of 2007. I mention that because I saw her get a nod in a recent write-up for the OCDG vs SRDL game

for comforting a player she had just creamed. Sour Cherry and Hoochie Mama of OCDG are two people I'd like to meet someday on my cross-continent tour of roller derby leagues. (Yeah I am still dreaming about that, ever since Raven Von Kaos posted her interview with her derby wife, Heather Headlockleer. )

My favorite quote from this write up?

"It's kind of like watching NASCAR, but every lap someone crashes," said Graham Jacobson, whose girlfriend skates for the SRDL.

Now that's a good description of roller derby for all the racing fans out there. So, what's the difference between a Nascar driver and a rollergirl?..... Well, the rollergirl will probably not catch on fire when she crashes. ;)
