Adult Fitness Tax Credit for being a Rollergirl in Canada

Hey, thanks to Slapollonia of the GTA Rollergirls in Toronto, I've sent my postcard. I can't actually vote, being a US Citizen and a Canadian Permanent Resident, but I'm Canadian enough that I pay taxes in Canada, so I'd love a tax credit.

How about you?

If you're not already aware there is a Children's Tax Credit in place to try and promote a healthy lifestyle. It allows up to $500.00 tax credit per person. So having said that... how about an Adult Fitness Tax Credit? That applies to anyone who maintains a regular routine of physical activity and ANY SPORT, activity or MEMBERSHIP. This is a fantastic incentive to help promote physical activity and can also offset some of the costs of joining roller derby for your players.

Please take twenty seconds (I swear at the most) to fill an online e-postcard that goes to Harper, Flaherty and your local MP. Do it now, while the Canadian election is a hot topic and just around the corner. I just did it in less than 20 seconds.

Oh man, Canadians have it so good! I really hope that proposition goes through, it makes a profound amount of really common sense!

Now if only we could get something like that on the ballot in the states...oh wait HMO's don't want us healthy!

I'd better go skate so I can stay in shape, then!
