Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian Rollergirls!
As a transplanted American, I have to say that I celebrate both holidays, and for both, I like to find things to be thankful for.
Today I am thankful that I know Georgia W Tush. She has been a roller derby inspiration to me, and so much help to Derby Luv. I'm thankful that I have a wonderful derby widow by my side. That I skated all summer and think I can do better this season for MTLRD.
I'm thankful derby is alive and kicking in Canada, and look forward to year 2 with hopes that I'll make some new derby friends, some new derby enemies, and that I can get in the penalty chair at least once, but only if my team has already lost and I don't hurt our score. ;)
Oh and don't forget, Derby Luv wants to be at RollerCon 2008. We'd like to have a Canadian Roller derby All-Stars team to go play... so if you're a Canadian Rollergirl and want to be a member, get in touch with me or Georgia and we'll work on it for next year!
