So I got my new Riedell 125 boots last week and started breaking them in. After a little trepidation about the stoppers, and the no padding, new fit... I got used to them and had a great training week.
After getting my bike stolen from outside a Metro station (subway station in the USA) two weeks ago I bought a new one last week. Went for a long ride to test it out. And on Thursday I headed out over Montreal's
Jacques-Cartier Bridge to the Gilles-villeneuve track (Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve) and went around the 2.709 mile track 3 times, then biked an hour home through St-Lambert to get back to Longueuil from the island. (That's 8.127 miles, but who's counting? ;) )
Man was I tired on Friday. Other than a spill after doing a slow-motion over correction after losing my rhythm when I was spitting out little damn gnats that were in clouds everywhere in the dusk... it was a blast. I even got to stay in front of my team captain and jammer Georgia W Tush most of the time with the new China reds bearings and Blue Demons wheels that came with my skates from
Rollergirl. (best customer service ever!)
